Sandiip Bhammer – Portfolio Manager


Mr. Bhammer serves as a Director of Tarragon Capital Advisors (India) Private Limited (a boutique investment bank focused on SMEs within India) and has also served on the Boards of Indiabulls Financial Company Private Limited, SKIL Infrastructure Limited (India's largest container freight station company), Somerset Entertainment Ventures (Singapore) Pte Ltd (a Singapore-based sports marketing and event management company which currently owns the commercial rights to the Mahindra Sri Lanka Premier League Cricket Tournament), Cinema Capital (a SEBI-registered media sector fund aimed at financing films and related media projects in Bollywood), Intellistay Hotels Private Limited (an executive hotel chain in India) and CitiXsys Technologies Private Limited (a software products company that provides SAP Business One solutions). Mr. Bhammer has also, in his personal capacity, angel-funded a number of successful start-up ventures across a variety of sectors both in India and elsewhere and still continues to mentor them.


Before serving as Director of Tarragon Capital Advisors, Mr. Bhammer spearheaded Balyasny Asset Management's (B.A.M.) investment efforts in South-Asia from 2007 onward as the Managing Director of B.A.M.’s India office (and until June 2016, remained an exclusive consultant to B.A.M. on their South Asia investments). Prior to his position with B.A.M., Mr. Bhammer was an Asia-focused Portfolio Manager in B.A.M.'s NYC office and at Amaranth Advisors in Greenwich, CT (USA)/Singapore, where he was responsible for investing and monitoring approximately USD700 million of Amaranth's investment capital into the South Asian region. Prior to moving to the "buy side", Mr. Bhammer was a Senior Director of Asia Pacific Equities at Citigroup Global Equities in New York, and held senior positions on the Asian Equities desks at HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. and CLSA (USA) Inc., where he was a top-rated equity specialist globally for many years in various surveys conducted by publications such as Institutional Investor, Asia Money and Greenwich Associates.

Mr. Bhammer obtained his Bachelor’s in Business Administration (B.B.A.) with Honors from the Wallace E. Carroll School of Management at Boston College, Masters of Science in Finance (M.S.F.) also from the Wallace E. Carroll School of Management at Boston College, and his Master’s in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the S.C. Johnson School of Management at Cornell University. Mr. Bhammer is also presently a CFA Level III candidate and the President of the Johnson Alumni Association (of Cornell University) for India.
